Veteran law enforcement executive brings 32 years of leadership to advance public safety, drone response, and integrated command-and-control solutions.

DALLAS, TX, UNITED STATES, August 13, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- UNIFY.C2, built by Spatial Persistent Software (SPS), today announced the appointment of David McGill, Chief of Police (Ret.), as Director of Law Enforcement Solutions. McGill joins the company as public safety agencies increasingly adopt integrated technologies to strengthen command and control, improve multi-agency coordination, and address evolving drone and airspace security challenges.

McGill brings more than 32 years of distinguished law enforcement experience. He began his career with the Los Angeles Police Department, serving for 25 years in patrol, investigations, Internal Affairs, the Anti-Terrorist Division, and as Adjutant to the Chief of Staff. His service earned numerous commendations, including the LAPD Police Medal, the department's second-highest award for valor.

He later became the first Deputy Chief of the Newport Beach Police Department before serving as Chief of Police for the Sedona Police Department in Arizona. McGill is nationally recognized for his expertise in leadership development, professional standards, and organizational accountability. He serves as a Senior Instructor for the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA), advises agencies worldwide through the U.S. Department of Justice's International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP), and maintains a Secret security clearance with the FBI.

As Director of Law Enforcement Solutions, McGill will guide UNIFY.C2's public safety strategy, working closely with federal, state, local, and tribal agencies to ensure the platform continues to meet operational requirements across law enforcement, emergency management, critical infrastructure protection, Drone as First Responder (DFR) programs, border security, and counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) operations.

McGill is a graduate of the FBI National Academy's 212th Session and the West Point Leadership Program. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Pre-Medicine from the University of California, Irvine, and a Master of Public Administration, earned summa cum laude, from California State University, Long Beach. He currently serves as Chair of the International Association of Chiefs of Police Retired Chiefs of Police Section after previously serving as President of the California Peace Officers' Association.
