Commission Makes Appointment to Fill Prosecuting Attorney Vacancy

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (October 9, 2026) - Raymond E. Boyce Jr., of Martinsburg, was appointed Thursday by the Berkeley County Commission to serve as the next Prosecuting Attorney for Berkeley County. 

Boyce, who served as Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney since January 2025, was named Interim Prosecuting Attorney on Sept. 14 after Joseph R. Kinser was appointed to serve as Circuit Judge the 27th Judicial Circuit. 

Boyce is scheduled to take the oath of office on Wednesday at 11:30 AM.
